We act as an independent, technical partner for customers looking to procure defined services and develop specific capabilities. We help them diagnose, rationalise and tackle intractable problems by providing analysis, advice and assurance. Whether operating on the ocean floor, or in orbit around Mars, we get under the skin of a problem to enable our customers to make sound decisions about cost, time and performance.As Commercial and Contracting Specialist, you will:Act as a trusted advisor in all things business and contract management.Participate in the development of Request for Tender (RFT) documentation (ASDEFCON preferred) and lead approaches to the market.Familiarise with the new Defence Contract Management Framework and embrace elements that will improve contract management capabilityDevelop procurement and commercial strategies.Review and provide advice on the sufficiency of key deliverables.Provide mentorship through your exposure to Foreign Military Sales.To be successful for the role of Commercial and Contracting Specialist, you will be required:Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Law with equivalent experience or related field. Proven experience working in a commercial contracting environment, with experience within the defence industry environment.A successful track record in analysing, developing and negotiating contracts.Strong drafting skills.Commercial acumen coupled with an acute ability for risk mitigation.Communicate effectively across all levels with both internal and external partners.Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Secret Clearance is required.Applications close on Friday 14th June 2019.What we offerWithout the collective smarts of our people, we would not be able to achieve what we do.
