The role of Mechanical Technician is Brisbane based and will report to the Leader Hypersonics Engineering.

Working alongside world-leading defence scientists in our Integrated Engineering Services division we offer multi-disciplinary professional engineering services supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities, to solve challenging engineering problems for our Defence Science and Technology clients.
About the role
Under general direction to the approach, and with guidance in terms of specific priorities and requirements, carry out fabrication and assembly of precision prototype mechanical components as required by the High Speed Weapons (HSW) Program. The successful candidate will work closely with design engineers, including some at interstate locations, and must be able to communicate complex mechanical concepts using information technology such as email and video teleconferencing. Substantial experience in precision CNC and manual machining, and the usage of CAD/CAM tools will underpin success in this role. The role will deliver specialist mechanical technical support and a manufacturing capability to the world-class Hypersonic Research Precinct at DST Eagle Farm.
The role is Brisbane based and will report to the Leader Hypersonics Engineering.
