This is an exciting and challenging experimental research program that is heavily driven by science and technology (S&T) activities as opposed to a standard product/production environment. The program involves complex activities and multiple stakeholders from within DST Group, in addition to broader Defence, academia, industry and international partners.The role will report administratively to the Leader Hypersonics Engineering, and take day-to-day tasking and direction from the HSW Scramjet Flight Science and Technology Sub-Program Leader. It is based in Brisbane and occasional short-term travel may be required.Duties:Provide general project management support to the Sub-Program Leader in the management, tracking and reporting of project deliverables.Contribute to the preparation, ongoing usage, and reporting of project schedules and budgets.Carry out supporting activities to the broader project team including but not limited to: procurement, minute-taking, action tracking, financial reporting, agreement/engagement contracting and scheduling.Liaise and coordinate with interstate Program Office staff.In conjunction with the Sub-Program Leader and Hypersonic Wind Tunnel Manger, assist with support activities of a world-class Hypersonic Research Precinct at DST Eagle Farm.Essential experience/skills/qualities:Prior experience in a project support role within a technically complex project-based setting.Exposure to and familiarity with project management methodologies and practices including scheduling, budgeting and reporting.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to positively interact within a diverse group of technical, engineering, scientific and management team members and stakeholders.An ability to adapt and cope with dynamic technically complex situations.High-level computer literacy and ability to operate modern office software applications.An ability to obtain and maintain a minimum NV1 Defence Security Clearance and be eligible to apply for an NV2 clearance.Desirable experience/skills/qualities:Proficiency with MS Project Professional or Server.Previous experience in a research project management support role within a large/complex organisation.An understanding of hypersonic or scramjet technologies.An existing NV2 (or above) Defence Security Clearance.What we offerWithout the collective smarts of our people, we would not be able to achieve what we do.
