We act as an independent, technical partner for customers looking to procure defined services and develop specific capabilities. We help them diagnose, rationalise and solve intractable problems by providing analysis, advice and assurance. Whether operating on the ocean floor, or in orbit, we get under the skin of a problem to enable our customers to make sound decisions about cost, time and performance.About the roleWhat will a typical day look like? The Software Developer will be responsible for working under direction as a member of a team responsible for developing moderately complex programs employing an Agile Software Development Methodology (SDM), integrating Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) software, documenting technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment. The role will need intermediate software development skills and a proven ability to work within an integrated team of technical/non-technical personnel.As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for:Develop moderately complex programs using a variety of software languages and frameworks (e.g. Python, Django) and development environments.Deliver scripting using a variety of languages (e.g. JavaScript) and secondary skills (e.g. SQL)Contribute to the delivery of high quality analysis and User Experience outcomes.Adhere to software engineering processes and contribute to software engineering process improvement.Work as a member of an integrated Agile team.Document technical processes.To be successful for the role of a Software Developer, you will require:Demonstrable experience in development language, preferably Python.Demonstrable experience with web development (Javascript, and Javascript front end frameworks).Knowledge of and /or experience with Red Hat or Linux systems.Demonstrable experience of software deployed on systems such as Docker, Virtualisation, Cloud platforms.This role requires NV1 Security Clearance.
